FERTILITY SMOOTHIE

FERTILITY SMOOTHIE

When I prep someone for pregnancy the first thing I do is pull unhealthy things out of the diet. After I detoxify them I begin adding healthy things back in. A gardener always gets the soil as healthy and nourished as it can be before planting precious seeds and plants, the healthier the soil , the more healthy and vibrant those seed and plants will grow. Our bodies are like as well, the healthier our bodies are before pregnancy the better the environment is to maintain a healthy pregnancy as well as to support a flourishing child.

Something I have all my clients drink pre pregnancy is my fertility smoothie. Not only does it taste AMAZING but also it does so many awesome things to enrich your body by getting it ready for pregnancy. Everyday millions old cells die and millions are new cells are born the anti oxidants and greens in this smoothie help feed the new cells that being birthed.
The added supplements are to support fertility.  I know that it can be annoying and time consuming to take a ton of vitamins and supplements everyday. What I love about my smoothie is, you throw it all together in a blender and you are good to go.

INGREDIENTS – (suggested products below)

-Frozen mixed organic berries
(You can buy fresh berries and freeze them)

-Almond or rice milk  (I prefer these- not big on dairy) you can also use organic milk if you choose.

-Protein powder – something natural and clean with out a lot of additives or soy.

-2 shoots of wheat grass – you can use powder, fresh shots or I use a frozen one by Evergreen

-Maca Root Powder

-Acai berry

-Mixed powered greens

-Royal Jelly (* If you are allergic to bees do not use)

-Bee pollen (* Again don’t use is you have a bee allergy)

-Liquid omegas

Read dose on back of product; mix all together in a blender. Depending on thickness use how much milk you want for the consistency you like.

WHAT IT ALL DOES  –

The powered greens, berries, Acai – feed and promote healthy cell growth and helps nourish the blood.

The wheat grass-
Lowers FSH levels, helps restore hormone balance and helps alkaline your PH levels which makes it better for sperm to live in. Its also nourishes cells.

Maca root –
Nourishes the entire endocrine system, enhances fertility, and brings hormones into balance. Also increases sex drive, vitality and gives you tons of energy.

Royal Jelly –
Balances hormones, supports endocrine system , helps raise estrogen levels ( great for woman who have low estrogen ) , helps increase sperm quality and testosterone levels in men .

Bee Pollen – High levels of vitamins, natural aphrodisiac, Nourishes the ovaries, help produce healthy eggs, increases fertility, increases sperm count in men and balances menstrual cycle.

Protein powder –
Repairs and builds healthy tissues

Fish oils –
Helps stabilize moods, lowers inflammation in the body, increases blood flow to uterus and promotes regular menstrual cycle, ovulation, and cervical mucus as well as increasing sperm mobility in men .

This is a great recipe. I am currently in my third trimester- is this smoothie beneficial for resetting your body after the birth as well?

I enjoy your blog. It is surprising how little information there is out there for women to use to care for themselves after their baby’s birth. I have been combing the internet for self-care resources beyond how to take a sitz bath or “sleep when the baby sleeps”! I am about to have my second child, and did not know how to care for my energy after the birth of my first child- I don’t want to feel as depleted this time!

Im so happy you like !!! I am doing a pregnancy smoothie and a post birth one too .. so hold tight 🙂 I like my clients to eat blood building and replenishing foods after birth such as Liver, meat, poultry, dark meat turkey, fish, cook in cast iron cook ware, brewers yeast, black strap molasses, soy, navy, lima, kidney, black, white and pinto beans, lentils, chic peas, sea vegetables, winter squash, dried apricots, sun dried tomatoes, prunes, prune juice, goji berries, cocoa powder, raisins, sunflower, sesame and pumpkin seeds, oatmeal, millet,
and whole wheat bread. make sure you carve out enough time to transition your baby, body ,self as you integrate this new being into your family and life . definitely rest when baby naps , ask for help from friends and family. tune into your energy if you are feeling good then do things if you are exhausted then rest ..You will always know what you need if you just stop and tune in . xoxoox L

How much of each ingredient should I use? I just had my 2nd failed IVF. We are taking a few months off of ART to go “au natural” but in the mean time I’m filling up my fertility arsenal and looking forward to trying this! Thanks for the shopping suggestions. 🙂

Hello, today I purchased all the ingredients for this smoothie. I left the health food store $180 later. This is a great recipe and I look forward to start using everyday. I do have 2 questions:

    1. I was planning on drinking the smoothie in place of 2 meals per day. The lady at the health food store said that would be way too much. She suggests just once a day and in the morning. What do you suggest?

    2. Although this is obviously very healthy, I’m thinking the $180 is a 30 day supply of everything. I would love for my husband to start using the smoothies as well. That will be $360 per month for the 2 of us… plus the cost of the other groceries. Is there something you suggest or recommend to reduce this cost?

Hi !!! I agree once in the morning is great …. u don’t need to spend extra for ur husband .. usually when I make a batch there is tons left over for another person … If u eel the need to add extra product try buying it in bulk … there are places on line if u google the product u want in bulk form u get a lot more for cheaper … Good luck with the baby making xoxo

Should the father-to-hopefully-be also drink this once a day?

I look forward to trying this smoothie. My question is which kind of maca to use? I read the red maca is better for female and black is better for male. Do I use both if we are both going to be drinking the smoothie?
