6 things that help find relief when your milk comes in

Somewhere between 36 -72 hours after the birth of your baby your milk will begin to come in . This can be painful and uncomfortable . Here are a few things you can do to help with engorgement.  Image

1. Get your baby to feed  or if you need to pump as often as possible . 

2. Get in shower run hot water over your breasts and let the milk just flow out , you can do a gentle massage to help extract more . 

3. Rub arnica oil over breasts ( not the nipple ) and add a hot compress ( hot towel , water bottle , heating pad ) 

4. Cool compress after feeding 

5. Place green cabbage leaves over whole breast and in your bra between feedings .

6. Avoid tight fitting bras or anything that is restricting.
