Holistic remedies for Varicose veins in pregnancy


Caused by standing too long ,  pregnancy or when carrying twins or more , being over weight  and they are hereditary . If you are prone to them they tend to get worse with each pregnancy and the older you get.

Make sure you

-Exercise at least 5 times a week

– Elevate your legs as often as you can either on pillows or up the wall for 10 -20 minutes a day and make sure to keep your head always above your heart .

-Try and stay with in the recommended weight.

-Don’t cross your legs when sitting.

– Always sleep on your left side

– Get massage for circulation , Foot massages very helpful .

– Wear comfortable low heeled shoes

– Wear support hose or compression socks.

– Avoid wearing tight clothes that constrict blog flow with the exception of compression stockings .

– Eat foods high in vitamin C – Vitamin C deficiency has been linked to varicose veins

– Drink and eat red,black and blueberries to strengthen the walls of the veins .

– Apply rescue remedy cream on veins to help with pain or itchiness

–  In a cold towel soaked in water , wring it out and put inside some witch hazel , a few drops of geranium oil and some aloe vera gel . wrap around the legs and elevate your legs on a few pillows for 10 minutes .

Eat or take sociable garlic capsules to support the circulatory system.

Drink nettle leaf tea to strengthen the vascular system
