6 prenatal yoga poses to do daily to keep back pain away

Well this was going to be a long series of poses to do for all different parts of the body, but being that mercury is in retrograde ….. I got home I realized that  my iPhone only took 10 out of the 100 photos I shot today !! UGH !!! This is my adorable client Chippy who is 39 weeks pregnant and a poster child for a healthy pregnancy !!

Here are a few 6 poses you can do daily to help with back pain .

Restorative dog – On all fours tuck your toes under , lift your butt up and press it back towards heals , reach arms straight ahead of you , pressing you forehead on ground . Take a deep breath into your upper back through your nose and as you exhale allow your chest to drop . Image

Cat / Dog – On all fours inhale deep into your baby/belly as you arch up ( head and tailbone up) then exhale round your back (head and tailbone down ) . Try and make each inhale and exhale at least four counts and slowly move your body to the breath.

Hip circles – Still on all fours begin to slowly make circles with your hips after a few seconds switch directions .

Sway your hips from side to side  – On all fours slowly sway your hips from side to side like your rocking your baby in a cradle .

Calf stretch – On all fours take your right leg behind you , tuck your toes under , push your heal back and hold for a few breaths .Image

Side stretch -Take that right leg and swing it behind you over the the left , bend your elbows slightly and look behind at your right foot . Deep breath into the side of your body and as you exhale, let everything let go and relax . Image
