BREGGY’SBELLY BUTTER
Stretch marks are very common during pregnancy. They are often the result of rapid weight loss or gain and pregnancy hormones like progesterone . Some woman develop them while others never do . There are a few factors that determine if someone will develop stretch marks or not during pregnancy .
A lot depends on hereditary, chances are if your mother had them then most likely you will too. Darker skinned women are more prone to them then lighter skinned women are.
Your skins elasticity has something to do with it as well – Thicker skinned people have less of a chance of getting stretch marks as their skin has more elasticity then a thinner skinned person .
Nutrition and diet – un unhealthy processed diet has been linked to contributing to stretch marks .
To prevent stretch marks, I suggest my clients start way before they are pregnant by eating a whole food healthy diet and eat plenty of good fatty acids such as Fish oil, olive oil, coconut oil, canola oil, hempseed oil, hemp seeds, flax seed oil, flax seeds, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, walnuts, sun flower seeds, buckwheat, almonds and nut butters, lentils, split peas, wheat germ, salmon, cod, avocados, kale, spinach, collard greens and winter squash. . I also make sure they stay well hydrated by drinking plenty of water ( I am a huge fan of coconut water as well )
I also have my clients use my Belly Butter before pregnancy. Doing it early helps prepare and nourish the skin. I always suggest starting to prepare your body a few months before you start trying to conceive . I have a special blend I make for my clients but below is a great and effective recipe you can make for yourself at home.
BREGGY”S BELLY BUTTER
1 jar of organic coconut oil
1 container of organic coco butter
1 container of organic shea butter
1 small bottle of 400 IU of Vitamin E
Place in a pot of boiling water all the ingredients (except the vit E ) in their separate containers as they are all hard, letting them melt ( the coco butter takes forever to melt ) , after all is melted pour in a large bowl , mix together add Vit E , put in glass container . Store in a cool place ( if you have extra store in refrigerator )
Use sparingly on belly, breasts, hips and buttocks.
We live in such a fast paced world.. Pregnancy is such a miraculous time, so many women these days don’t take the time to connect with their bodies and babies, before they know it they missed out on this whole special time. You can use the time you take to rub your belly butter on yourself to stop and connect with your growing baby.
When applying simply close your eyes, place your hands on your belly and begin to rub the belly butter all around while feeling your belly and your baby inside, you can talk to them or just simply send them loving feelings. It has been proven that babies in the womb sense and feel everything; your voice carry’s energy as well as your thoughts.

Hi Lori,
When you say “organic cocoa butter” do you mean the big raw chunk of it or cocoa butter cream? Same with the shea butter – shea butter cream or just raw hunk of shea butter? I’ve found both online and didn’t know which way to go! Also, all of the ingredients come in various sizes. Do you know roughly what the proportions are?
Thanks!
I sometimes use the aura cacia pure cocoa butter in the tub .. 2 per batch
Or u can use the raw chunks .. I always use a lot of cocoa butter in my mix
Shea butter organic essence is good … Go to local health food store and see what they carry .. They all have it
I don’t quite understand how to add the vitamin E…caplets? i’ve searched this recipe all over the web!
i use the liquid Vitamin E … u can get at any health food store .
i use the liquid Vitamin E .. found in all health food stores XL

Hi Lori,
Does this mixture have to be refridgerated? And what is the texture supposed to be like, I keep mine refrigerated and then when I want to use it I have to scrape it with a spoon to get some out of the jar and then rub for awhile between my hands to make it liquid enough to rub into my skin. I love the way it makes my skin feel but often don’t use it because it takes more time than I have right now. I assumed it would be the texture of a lotion but mine is very hard and firm (probably because I store it in the fridge) and when I rub it between my hands it becomes the texture of an oil. Also if you store it out of the fridge how long will it last before the ingredients expire? Thanks so much!
I make it and leave the extra in fridge .. the one i use i keep under my sink in a cool place …. that way it isn’t too hard but won’t spoil . there are no preservatives so it does go bad if left out in the heat for months .. i usually use it up with in 6 weeks … x
I used this through two back to back pregnancies and call it my miracle cream. No stretch marks on my belly and it stopped the ones i started getting on my hips. Plus it makes more than enough for 40 weeks so you can share extra with friends. Thank you for this recipe!!!
Awesome !!!!! Yeeeehawwww !!! That makes me soooooo happy !!!! Xox
AWESOME !!!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE HEARING THIS !!!! XOXOXOXOXOXO
I absolutely love this recipe! I made it in my first few weeks of pregnancy and am still using the original batch into my 9th month. So far no stretch marks and I am due in March! I keep a small jar of it in the shower and put it on at the very end. I also apply it to my knees and elbows for super soft skin. I feel it locks in the moisture from the shower and makes me feel like I am at the spa without leaving my home. I keep the rest in the fridge until I am ready to use it. Thank you for the great recipe!
YAY !!!!!!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING !! THIS MAKES ME SOOOOOOOO HAPPY !!! XOXOXOXOXOXOX
Hi, Heard great things about this recipe. What size jar and container did you use? Should the products be equal ratios to each other?
I used a mason jar u mix all together and u might need a few jars .. What ever is left over leave in fridge as there are no preservatives
Thanks! What size of each ingredient do you use? The packaging isn’t consistent across the products, 4oz, vs 1lb, etc. Thanks so much! Looking forward to making this.
